Florence is a warm and empathic psychologist committed to providing evidence-based psychological care to individuals who live with disability. She is passionate about supporting people from diverse populations and marginalised communities to achieve their goals and find fulfillment in life. Florence works to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic space and uses an open and collaborative approach to therapy in order to determine each individual client’s goals and needs.
Florence enjoys working with people across the lifespan who have a range of concerns, such as major mental illness, complex trauma, intellectual disability or cognitive impairment, autism spectrum disorder, emotion regulation, chronic health conditions, and addiction. She utilises a person-centred approach and understands the value of working as part of an interdisciplinary team in order to improve outcomes.
Florence has a particular interest in supporting individuals with behaviours of concern, including aggression or harmful sexual behaviour, and who may have come into contact with the criminal justice system. She also has a strong interest in supporting victims of crime and people who live with the ongoing impacts of trauma.
She has experience providing crisis support, conducting a variety of psychological assessments, as well as delivering therapeutic interventions. Florence has worked in hospital and community settings, with individuals, families and groups. She uses a trauma-informed approach and has training with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
